Gilbert; pamphlet, My Dear Wells, circa 1921, containing letters poertaining to the publication of My Dear Wells, a book written as a series of vitriolic letters by Jones to H.G. Wells contending that the socialist movement was unpatriotic; leaflet, circa 1921, containing quotes from H.G. Wells in response to My Dear Wells.

Henry Arthur Jones was the son of a tenant farmer, and worked in the drapery business for some twenty years after leaving school. He developed a passion for drama, and found success with The Silver King, a play he co-authored with Henry Herman, which gave him the financial security to become a full-time writer.
